Review of the Poverty-Environment Links relevant to the IUCN Programme

Undertaken by independent reviewers, this document was requested by IUCN Commissions Review and Council, to strengthen IUCN’s ability to address livelihood-conservation issues. It was presented at IUCN’s World Conservation Congress in Bangkok in November 2004. It reports on IUCN’s work and regional case studies, discussing poverty and environment's links to governance, the Millennium Development Goals, and sustainable development, among other areas.
