This project initially focuses on establishing a network of Asian air pollution effects scientists. The project oversees the coordination of this network ensuring effective communication between scientists across the region with the aim of developing observational and experimental protocols. An Air Pollution Network workshop will be held to discuss and agree on suitable protocols bringing together regional air pollution experts, decision-makers and other appropriate stakeholders.

This project is part of the 2001-2004 phase of the Sida-funded Programme on Regional Air Pollution in Developing Countries (RAPIDC) which is co-ordinated by the Stockholm Environment Institute (SEI). This activity is being carried out by SEI in collaboration with the Swedish Environmental Research Institute (IVL) and Göteborg University.
